Representatives of Mapai (Is- rael Labor Party) urged the ex- ecutive to apply for affiliation after the Central Committee of the Party had voted 62-1 in favor of urging the affiliation. The representative of Oved Zioni (Progressive Party Workers) had supported the Labor Party mo- tion after consultation with his party. Affiliation Opposed The representative of Mapam (left-wing United Workers Par- ty) opposed the proposed affilia- tion and suggested that, for the time being, the Histadrut should send only observers to'the forth- coming ICFTU convention as well as to that of the World Fed- eration of Trade Unions. Histadrut was one of the founder members of the WFTU in 1945 but split with the orga- nization in 1950 when it became clear that the organization had become Communist - dominated. Since that time, Histadrut has remained outside the interne t tional labor badieay ca TO THE TOP MEN in the Industry f Congratulations On Your Choice of DAYTON SHOES You Have The Best That Money Can Buy QUALITY The Standard By Which All Boots Are Judged No. 6400 “Super Logger’’ DAYTON SHOE MANUFACTURING CO.
