In- cluded in the correspondence was a letter from Sister Isabel Peter- son, Recording Secretary of the Parksville Ladies’ Auxiliary (sub Local 1-80), requesting name and address of any logger in one of the Vancouver hospitals for the purpose of sending comforts from their Auxiliary. . Hospital reports heard at the March meeting showed that a to- tal of 48 visits had been made to St. Paul’s HoSpital by Sisters Muriel Bradley, Pat Fulljames, and Brother Lloyd Whalen. Sis- ters Kay Wood and Pearl Hodg- son reported a total of 50 visits to the Compensation Wards of the Vancouver General. The Out- side Wards of the Vancouver General were visited by Sisters Lucille Busch and Jean Macken- zie who niade 27 visits. North Vancouver General is covered by Sister Lucy Robinson. No pa- tients in either St. Vincent’s or Shaughnessy. Hospital Visitors St. Paul’s Hospital, Muriel Bradley, Anne Nichol; Vancouver General (Compensation Wards), Rossie Cummins, Olive White- house; General (Outside Wards), Margaret Slarks, Elsie Gray; North Vancouver, Lucy Robinson. A brief synopsis of the Massey Report was given by Sister Brad- ley. A vote of thanks was extend- ed for the work in connection with the report. Sister Alison Brown was tendered a vote of thanks for her work in connec- tion with Hospital visiting. Sister Brown is leaving for a vacation to Scotland shortly and our best wishes are extended to her for a pleasant trip. The April meeting was held in the IWA Board Room, 45 Kings- way, was not so well attended due to.a lot of illness, We were in receipt of a donation to the Hospital Fund from the Court- enay Local of the IWA. An acknowledgment of our let- ter and report was received from fthe editor of The International Woodworker, who stated that our report will be printed in the March 12 issue of the paper. We have received the January, 1952, issue of The Consumers’ Union magazine and our Auxiliary is considering the advisability of becoming a regular subscriber. We will be represented at the Spring Executive Meeting of the Vancouver Council of Women, be- ing held April 24 in the Hudson’s Bay Auditorium where we will attempt to bring up the matter of the Heather Annex (Vancou- ver General Hospital). Our Hos- pital Visiting Committee has‘dis- cussed conditions in the Heather Annex at various times after visiting patients confined there, and we feel that some type of investigation should be made into the conditions prevalent there. Reports of. the Hospital Visit- ing Committee at the April meet- ing showed that a total of 34 visits were made to St. Paul’s Hospital by Sisters Anne Nichol, Muriel Bradley and Brother Lloyd Whalen. Sisters Olive Whitehouse, Rossie Cummins and Pat Fulljames made a total of 102 visits to the Compensation Wards of the General Hospital. The Outside Wards of General were visited by. Sisteys Margaret Slarks and Elsie Gray who made 39 visits. Sister Lucy Robinson reported no patients at the North Vancouver General but one mem- ber visited at home (injured at King’s Mill, North Vancouver.). The next meeting of our Aux- iliary will take place Wednesday, May 7, in the IWA Board Room, 45 Kingsway. Nominations will be received for officers for the forthcoming year.
