Neglected Injuries Report received from the com- mittee at_Aero Camp, Kelley Logging Co., Queen Charlotte Islands, alleging neglect of an injured logger is being investi- gated by Local 1-71. It is claimed that a young log- ger received a severe knee injury on July 2nd. As the first aid man was on vacation, he remained in camp for almost a week, when he was given a few days’ treatment ‘Loggers’ Navy’ Readied For Duty in hospital at Queen Charlotte City. Although not completely re- covered, he was returned to camp to recuperate. The disablement persisted, however, and prevent- ed him from working. ‘ The camp committee reported that he was confined to the bunk- house and was compelled to rely on fellow-workers to bring him | food from the cookhouse and at- tend to his wants. He was allowed to remain in this plight, it is stated, until sey- eral weeks later, when he was re- moved to Vancouver for further treatment. Local Union officials state that if the facts are verified, appro- priate action will be taken to prevent recurrence of any such neglect of injured loggers.
