IWA-CIO Local 1-80 and employees of
Lake Logging Company, Ltd, do
charge Brother Nigel Morgan and
A, B. Greenwell with counsell-
ing, advising and inciting the employees
of the Lake Logging Company Ltd., to
action contrary to the laws of British
Columbia and conspiring to avoid the ap-
tion of the Industrial Conciliation
Arbitration Act of British Columbia
in the settlement of our present dispute
with the Company.

“To Wit: On June 18th, 1941, at a meet-
jing of the employees of Lake Logging

Nigel Morgan and A. B. Greenwell coun-

quit work in a body, while assisting the

Three Island
Dances To Be

Held By IWA

LAKE COWICHAN, B.C. .— Three
dances will be held by IWA Local 1-80
to help raise the necessary finances to
send our full quota of delegates to the
important forthcoming Annual Conven-
tion of the Canadian Congress of Labor.

The first dance will be held in the
Courtenay Native Sons Hall on Satur-
day, August 30th, at 9 pm. Good music,
and supper are included in the 75c admis-
sion.

The third in the series will be held
in the UMWA (Miners) Hall, Nanaimo,
at 9 pm, on Labor Day, Monday, Sep-
tember ist. The Swingsters Orchestra
will play and refreshments will be served.

Stands Firm

KITCHENER, Ont—(CUN).—“I’m not
going to stand around and see people
starve,” Mayor Jos. Meinzinger declared
last week as he refused to apologize to
the board of trade and business men for
signing an advertisement. appealing for
financial assistance to feed 250 striking
button workers, members of the CCL.
“People paying low. wages are a menace
to this country,” he added. “I gave $20
to the fund and I'd like to know how
many board of trade men who are criti-
cising me gave anything.”
