District Council and Brother Alfred Johnson this week which will play a very important role in the building of our union in B.C. Brother Johnson, who jis well known to B.C. loggers, having jbeen an organizer of thé union in 1932-33, és now manufacturing boots, a trade which he “learnt as a kid in the old country, and which he has worked at for over eight years in Canada.” Having worked in B.C. woods for 10. years he understands particularly well the loggers’ needs, and has just decided to open a new plant to specialize in this line. Here the very best grade of hand-made boots will be manufactured. Special features of the new product will be best grade materials, full vamp cut, leather-lined, heavy leather insole, light weight, and on top of all this the boots will be guar- anteed against any manufacturers de- fault. Tops will be one inch higher than competitive products, For every pair of “Best For Less” jboots ordered either through the Union or directly through Brother Johnson, the sum of one dollar will be turned over to | he District Council for organization pur- ;Poses. So here's your chance to help jbuild the union and save yourself money by buying a superior product at a re- |duced price. It sounds almost. too good to be true, but we have to do the adver- tising and sell the product to ourselves. Such an unusual offer is only possible through the direct sale from manufac- urer to consumer. Brother Johnson has given the Union an exceptional oppor- tunity, we cannot afford to lose any time in taking advantage of it. Let us have your ideas of putting the drive over, and also write in for further in- formation and order forms. Samples will be available shortly at the District Of fice, on the Loggers’ Navy, at the Lake [Cowichan and Port Alberni offices of the Union.
