Around town Recent visitors to the home of Mr. and Mrs. ER. Deschene were the latter’s sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. ‘‘Pete” Pelletier of Vancouver and their son, Keith and daughter June. As a member of the Vancouver Police Force, Sgt. Pelletier recently rescued a young boy who had fallen 300 § feet down Burnaby Mountain. Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Dreager (the former Matilda Ehert of Hawkins Lake) visited Williams Lake last week, spending some time with former neighbors from Hawk- ins Lake, Mr. and Mrs. E. Deschene. E. Edwards of Phoenix, Arizona. in a double-ring cere- mony conducted by Captain McCrae of the Puntzi Air Base. Sgt. White, also from the Base, provided the wed- ding music. Miss Virginia Kellogg was her sister's bridesmaid while Mr. Jack Deran of Puntzi was best man. The bride chose a light beige suit with white acces- sories, as her wedding cost- ume, while the bridesmaid wore a turquoise blue suit. The groom and the best man were in their smart alr force uniforms. A dance was held in the hall in the evening in honour of the newly-weds, Church friends honor couple Mr. and Mrs. Lawson Sug- den were pleasantly surprised Sunday evening when a group of 19 church friends dropped in to bid them farewell before they move to their new home in Edmonton Saturday. The couple were presented with a copper tray and pickle dish as a parting gift from their friends. Anderson performed his first marriage se when vice in St. Andrew’s United Church Saturday he united Donelda Gwen Mackay, elder daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald O. Mackay of Wil- liams Lake, and Emidio D’Angelo, second son of Mr. and Mrs. Vincenzo Maria D’Angelo of Catignana, Pescara, Italy. Baskets of white gladiolas, pink dahlias and sweet peas graced the church for the lovely double-ring ceremony at 7:30 p.m. An quisite floor-length gown of white Chantilly lace over taffeta was chosen by the bride who was given in mar- riage by her father. The molded bodice was fashioned with scalloped neckline and lily-point sleeves, while the full hooped skirt featured side panniers of alternating tiers of lace and nylon net. A dainty Juliet cap of seeded pearls and sequins held her fingertip veil of sheer net edged with lace, and she car- ried a spray of pink roses. Her only jewelry was a single strand of pearls. Miss Sheila Buckley of Haney was bridesmaid, and she was gowned in powder blue chiffon posed over taf- feta in ‘ballerina length with a matching blue cap. Her bouquet was also composed of pink roses. Receiving the guests were the bride’s parents, and Mr. and Mrs. G. Buckley, who acted for the groom’s parents. Mrs. Mackay chose a _ blue nylon chiffon coin-dotted in darker blue with navy acces- sories and a corsage of pink carnations. Mrs. Buckley Mrs. Chamberlain honored at tea Mrs. D. Chamberlain was suest-of-honor at a _ lovely farewell tea at the home of Mrs. F. Nicholson when a large group of friends gathered to ‘h her luck in her new home at Port Alberni.
