Page 4 THE WILLIAMS LAKE TRIBUNE Wednesday, August 12, 1959 LAO LA HACHE NEWS Small boy run over by car Gordon Gunderson, 24%-year- old son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Gunderson of 100 Mile House was run over by 4 car driven by his aunt, Mrs. Harold Wil- kie. He was playing behind the car and Mrs. Wilkie didn’t see him when she started backing ~eut. The wheel didn’t go over the boy but he was badly bruised on the head, back and arm. He was taken to Ashcroft Hospital by his parents and Mrs. Kathleen Russell, a first aid at- tendant. Gordon was X-rayed but there are no broken bones. He was released from hospital later in the evening. LAC LA HACHE is growing. The Red and White super mar- Ket had its grand opening on August 7. Swimming, diving, pleasure boat racing, water skiing, hydro- plane races and a’ spectacular water ski show put-on by the International Water Sports Club from the State of Wash- ington wound up one of the best water shows ever put on in the district. The weather was ideal and the setting beautiful. Members of the Community Club who gave so freely of their time and labor to make the event out- standing deserve the whole- hearted thanks of every resident D. M. Thomason is the man who for years has believed that this land of lakes and green clad hills should be attracting visitors from every part of our own nation and from across the international line. Mr. Thomason enlisted the assistance of such other enthus- jasts as Ernie King, Jack Lar- son, Jack MacKay, Bill Green- all and Walter Daniels. These men and their wives, helped by many others, are doing a won- derful job. The day was free of accidents though only the quick action and fast thinking of Clarence McMillan of 100 Mile House prevented a possible tragedy when another boat cut in front of him while rounding the cor- ner for the home stretch dur- ing the pleasure boat races.
