FIRE HAZARDS An important phase of the campaign will be removal of fire hazards. During Wednesday it- self, the fire marshal has or- dered that fires may be burned by householders without a fire permit. The idea is to clean out basements and attics’ of all scrap inflammable material and burn it. Also recommended for burning are grassy areas where an accidental fire would en- danger property. Fire Chief Sid Pigeon suggests that scrap wood should be burned by householders but large pieces should be put out for collection by the clean-up trucks. The chief recommends that a hose be connected up for immediate use during such burning ses- sions.
