Wedeesdap, July 46, inti Canseists fall Fraser Brigade LILLOOET — Emulating the recent Simon Traser canoe trip down the mighty Fraser were two young men from Salt Lake City, Utah, who are ardent de- yotees of the sport of battling currents and who arrived at Lil- looet July 7 after traversing the route from Prince George in a canoe. They are Allan Neill and Leslie A. Jones, the latter in his early thirties while Neill is itr his late twenties. Jones says he had travelled some of the most famous river currents in Idaho, Utah, Mon- tana, Wyoming and Oklahoma, but never ran across one as tough as the Fraser. They travelled to Prince|&§ George by auto, with Leslie Jones’ mother, Mrs. Manella Jones, also of Salt Lake City, who, after they had taken off on their trip, drove the car back to Lytton to await their arrival. They said the first night they decided to pitch camp just above Big Bar Creek, it was raining and a bunch of rocks and a mud slide came tumbling down on the spot they had chosen and forced them to seek another location. = They came through Marble Canyon and found it extra tough going, due to cross-currents and whirlpools.
