A record attendance was noted at
the public auction for the sale of
timber at the Forestry office last
Friday. This auction being the larg-
est sale ever to take place in this
district.

The large tract of timber, 2,600,-
000 cubie feet situated near Whittl
Lake, had several bidders from
ous parts of ‘the country. Western
Skagit Timber Company, who sub-
mitted the highest tender was award-

ed the saie> $11.50 per hundred
cubic feet for fir and $$.60 for
race.

THE SURVEY of lots, that are

part of the Barret subdivision, has
now been completed.

MR. WHITE, British Columbia
land surveyor from Kamloops. was
here recently to survey a.portion of
the Calloway land for subdivision
purposes.

NIQUIDET BROTHERS have a
new addition to their fine fleet of
trucks. This week they acquired a
new G.M.C. truck for the purpose of
hauling mail, freight and passengers.
