L. Pendleton of Swift Current, Sask., and Lawson Gordon Sugden, only son of Mrs. A. Sugden of Surrey, B.C., and the late J. Sugden, who ex- changed vows in a double-ring ceremony August 6th in the Swift Current United Church, The groom is a graduate of the University of British Columbia and holds the position of biologist with the B.C. Game Commission stationed at Williams Lake. The bride is a graduate of the University of To- ronto and the University of B.C. and taught at Williams Lake High School during the last term. Escorted to the altar by W. J. Faweett, the bride was lovely in a waltz length strapless gown of Chan- tilly lace and nylon marquisette, featuring a bouffant skirt shirred from the waist in tiers of lace and marquisette. The bodice was em- broidered in bugle beads, seed pearls and iridescent sequins. The gown was topped by a fitted lace jacke* with lily-point sleeves and bead embroidered stand-up collar. A tiny embroidered Tudor cap held the fingertip veil in place with both cap ‘ and veil repeating the sequin motif. She carried a white bible, gift of the groom, topped by a spray otf garnet rosebuds and lily-of-the-val- ley and cascading white streamers. The bride’s three sisters were her attendants. Mrs. Dorothy Burnett, matron of honor, was gowned in silver flecked marquisette over taf- fetta _in ballet length and she car- silver flecked marquisette over taf- ried a bouquet of yellow roses and white spray ‘mums. As bridesmtrons, Mrs. Arlene Duff wore :a ballet length gown of pink net over taffeta with a bouquet of pink gladiolus. Mrs. Maxine Watson wore a ballet length gown of blue net over taf- feta and a bouquet of gladiolus. Al! attendants wore floral headdresses. The flower girl, Brenna Burnett, neice of the bride, was daintily at-] tired in a floor length dress of em- broidered nylon over green taffeta, and she carried a basket of sweet peas and yellow daisies. Best man was George Mitchell. The bride’s brother, Ralph, and David Burnett were church ushers. The wedding music was provided vy te organist. .Mre-av Py MeKen- zie and during the signing of the register, Miss Margaret Grubb of Victoria sang “O: Perfect Love.” Following the ceremony a family reception was held at the home of Mr..and Mrs. D. Burnaby Setting Of Rites Of Interest T'o Cariboo Of interest to the Cariboo was the wedding July 30th of Catherine “Kitty” Duilibough, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F. Searle of Colwood, Van- couer Island, to Roy Vernon Wil- liams, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Williams of Hammond. The marriage took place in St. Nicolas Anglican Church at North Burnaby with Rev. G. Parrott offi- ciating. The bride was a resident of Forest Grove for many years, while the groom. was brought up at Back Creek near Horsefly. Matron of honor was Mrs. R. Gor don, sister of the bride. Groomsman was Larus Hillman of Hammond brether-in-law of the groom. A reception followed at the home of the bride's sister and brother-in- law, Mr. and Mrs. Gordon. Jurgen- sen Friday afternoon, August 26th, ‘given by members of the Hospital Auxiliary. Cpl. and Mrs. Routledge left last week to make their home in North Vancouver. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Keefe returned recently from an extended vacation to centres in Nebraska and Colorado visiting relatives. They also took in the world famous rodeo at Cheyenne. Colorado is Jim’s home state. He left his job as a cowpuncher there over 40 years ago to come to the Cariboo and establish Buckskin Ranch on the-west si at Soda Creek. .
