SUMMARY All across Canada for the week ending August 13th: Cattle marketings this week were about twenty percent heavier ‘than @ week ago and included a larger 50c lower elsewhere. Replacement ‘cattle sold unevenly 25c to $1 lower in the west. Hogs moved up 75c¢ to $1.25 at eastern markets and $1 to $2.25 in the west. Lambs gained $1 at Montreal and weakened on the markets this week, receipts totalling 25,000 head being 4,000 more than last week and 1,500 more than last year. Supplies were well distributed with east and west sharing equally in the increase. There were more ehoice and good cattle on hand, not- ably at Toronto and Calgary, but the bulk of the receipts elsewhere were only medium and plain grass kinds with a large percentage of cows and stocker cattle included.
