HORSEFLY Road Re-building Rumors Rife There is a strong rumor floating around Horsefly that Mr. Gaglardi has ordered one of his battalions to attack and rebuild the formidable Horsefly, Williams Lake road. Not too much comment has been heard yet from residents here, many seem skeptical and wonder if what we are hearing is only an echo from Bella Coola. : ALBERT ALARIC, formerly of Horsefly, was a recent guest of Jack Wynstra. Mr. Alarie is preparing to cut poles on Horsefly Lake. MUCH CREDIT is due the truck drivers of the Rosenau Brothers Company, in spite of heavy rains of the past week, and almost impossible road conditions over the Black Creelc road they are still getting the lum- ber out at the rate of two truck loads per day. THE water-sports event held Sun- day on Horesfly Lake proved excit- ting and entertaining for-many resi dents here. The show was held in the vicinity of the North Country Those participating in the iing were Art Johnson prop rietor of the Lodge, Howard Lowry, Douglas Brown-John, Leonard Wal- ters and Gordon Duncan. Miss Mary Luff was the only lady participating in the events. The tourists staying at the lodge joined full force with the Horsefly residents in making a size- able audience and movie cameras were much in evidence. * = MR. AND MRS. SLIM OLSON are staying at the Aubrey- Williams re- sort. Mr. Olson is sawyer at the Rosenau mill and Mrs. Olson is here for the summer holidays. MISS MARJORIE HOCKLEY is assisting Mrs. Abrey Williams at the Williams Black Creek resort. MANY EYES are turned to the sky these days in search of brighter weather, as heavy rains have imped- ed the haying in all districts. MRS. GUNNAR OLSON returned from Vancouver, accompanied by her daughter and son-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Edward Hoppe of that city, who spent a few days here in Horsefly. MRS. WILLIAMS WALKER and daughter Beatrice returned home after spending a pleasant two weeks holiday at the coast. MR. AND MRS. WILLIAM Ko- PACK, New Westminster friends of Mr. and Mrs. Herb Burr and Mr. and Mrs. Rod Macleod. are spending a few days here, guests at Hughes Brother Lodge. BERT HALCOME, P.L.1.B.
