Westcoast officials are confident the United States government will approve the company’s plans to pipe gas to the Pacific northwest states. The plan has to be approved by the U.S. Power Commission in Wash- ton. The plan calls for Westcoast to provide Pacific Northwest Pipeline Corporation of Houston, Texas, with 300,000,000 cubic feet of gas a day states. for distribution. in the -northwest states. Meantime, Trans-Northwest Gas Ine. of Spokane, which.had taken action to halt the project, announced the sale of certain assets to Pacific Northwest, which plans to buy gas from Westcoast. _ This is taken as a certain indica- tion that objection to the Peace River pipeline will be removed from this source.
