Wasyliw was hostess at the Guider | Leader meeting held at her home in Quesnel last Saturday. Present were captains and lieutenants of the four Quesnel companies as well as the Brown and Tawny Owls of their Brownie Packs. Present also were leaders of the new groups at Bouchie Lake and Kersley, as well as Wil- liams Lake. Problems discussed were the usual opes which seem to be plaguing groups of both Guides and Scouts throughout many districts — lack of leaders, lack of parental or com- munity interest and satisfactory meeting places. It was felt that there should be more unity with the Boy Scouts. This was emphasized with the swiftly approaching Thinking Day, celebrat- ed also by the Scouts as B.P. Day on February 22, which happens to be the joint birthdy of the two famous lead- ers of this most complete of youth organizations — Lord and Lady Baden-Powell. Comm. Wasyliv hopes to visit Williams Lake in about two weeks when she will discuss the work of the W.A. as well as visit the Guides and Brownies. Films are playing quite a part in ‘some Quesnel Guide meetings and are proving very helpful, especially where there are not many assistants. PROBLEMS AT QUESNEL MEETING These groups have joined the fast- growing Quesnel Film Council. This idea would work very well for Wil- liams Lake also as there are many fine films of Guiding and Scouting. The general feeling of the meeting was that it was very beneficial to meet and discuss problems which look very big but which when dis- cussed with similar leaders are easily solved. It was decided to hold regu- lar monthly meetings in Quesnel, it is central.
