early next spring.

A licence to operate the brewery
‘was received last Thursday from the
Attorney-General’s office.

The brewery will have a capacity
of 65,000 barrels annually.

the Chrysler Corporation of Canada,
Limited, in discussing the new car.
“Our designers weré hampered in no
‘way by carry-over style features,”
Mr. Row asserted.

Appreciable increases in power,
haye also been made, but, according
to Chrysler of Canada engineers, this
does not indicate that greater speeds
are being sought. Rather, they say,
the power and torque in the engines
of the 1955 models, combined with
the fully automatic PowerFlite trans-
mission, result in greatly improved
performance in the low and middle
speed ranges, and in greater safety.

INTRODUCE NEW V-8 ENGINE

A completely new “V-8 engine,
ealled the ‘‘Hy-Fire’’ V-8, will be
offered in the 1955 Plymouth Bel-
vedere line.

An unsual degree of efficiency and
economy is claimed for the new “‘Hy-
Fire” V-8 engine, as a result of its
dome-shaped combustion chambers.

A major advantage of this type of
combustion chamber, it is pointed
out, is that carbon deposits are kept
at a minimum. There are no corners
or pockets in which carbon can ac-
cumulate. Less carbon deposit helps
reduce- heat loss in the combustion
chamber, and permits utilization of
heat energy from burning fuel.

SYYLE CHANGES -
Typical of the styling and design
changes throughout all Chrysler Cor-
pration lines are the changes in the
new Plymouth. Length has been in-
creased 10.3 inches over 1954 mod-
els, with a one-inch longer wheel-
base. Over-all height has been re-
duced 1.7 inches. Front tread is 2.7
inches wider, matching rear tread, a
feature which Chrysler Corporation
engineers say contributes to road-
hugging stability, better cornering,
riding comfort and ease of handling.

VISIBILITY IMPROVED ?
The Chrysler Corporation's New
Horizon wrap-around windshield is
one which contributes to the forward
motion appearance of the 1955 mod-
els. Wrapped at the top as well as
at the bottom, and with the “A” posts
swept back to eliminate the usual
blind spots, the new windshield is as
much as 20 per cent larger than pre-
vious models, with visibility increas-
ed at top, bottom and both sides. The
downslope of the hood from the base
of the windshield forward further
increases visibility, permitting a bet-
ter view of the road immedately

sight for safe, easy manoeuvering of
the car when parking -or in tight
traffic, ,

The forward motion look of the
mew models is further expressed by
the slope of the rear window, in the
headlights afd tail-lights, and in
chrome trim where used.

NEW INTERIORS
Interiors are harmoniously colour-
harmonized with exteriors. In the
Plymeuth line of cars, for example,
there are nine different interior
colour combinations in rich uphol-
stery fabrics offered, to harmonize
with the various exterior colour and
tone combinations available. In-
terior hardware and trim blend
‘smoothly into the over-all interior
and exterior styling of all models.
Tubeless tires are now standard
equipment on all Chrysler Corpora-
tion motorcars. Tests indicate that
have

these tires improve traction,
greater resistance to blowous, pro-
vide a smooth, quiet ride. Tire re-
pairs are easy and quick, and can he
made without the removal of the tire
from the rim.

Another interesting innovation in
the various new models in the sus-
pension foot pedals, which gives the
driver a natural pedal “touch,” and
which eliminates the unsightly holes
in the floor board and the entry of
air, dirt and road noises.
