X-ray Unit

Indian Reservations -

The mobile X-ray unit of the Do-
minion Dept of Health Services (In-
dian Health Service Branch) spent
the day here Monday and X-rayed
some 51 persons including all the
school children. Many Indians are at

P-TA, Women’s
Institute Amalgamate

The local Women's Institute and
Parent-Teachers Association amal-
gamated at the last meeting of the
Women’s Institute on Qetober 6. The
meeting was held at the home of Mrs.
B. Lowry with seven members and
five visitors present. We are pleased
to welcome Mrs. R. MacLeod to the
Tnstitute. The P-TA held their final
meeting the same evening with ex-
president M. Thygasen presiding.

THE ANNUAL Ratepayers meet-
ing took place at the school October
12th. Alf Gardner, school represen-
tative presided and Mrs. Clarke was
acting secretary. There was a good
Aliseussion on school needs and prob-
lems. Mrs. M. H. Gibbons was elected
to replace Mr. Gardner as school rep-
resentative for the ensuing year.

THE Tea-of-the-month was held at
the home of Mrs. Lowry which was
also in honor of her sister, Mrs. H
Gurr, Vancouver, who has been her
guest for a week.

LANCE THYGASEN cooked and
served a delicious dinner in honor of
his wife’s birthday on October 2nd.
Dinner guests were Mr. and Mrs. R.
MacLeod, Barbara and Bruce, Mrs. G.
L. Garisten, Mr. and Mrs. M. L. Gib-

bons. ;

Lake, visited the Thygasens for a
week recently.

town on the 93 Mile road.

R. A. ARCHIBALD gave a lecture
in the Hall on\Sunday afternoon on
