Mr. Boulthee and Davie Fulton, M.P., will be in Williams Lake this week to meet with party members here. At the annual meeting, George 11, Hees of Toronto, national president of the associatin, said the B.C. Cou- servative Association disagrees with the policy of co-operation with the Federal Consevative Association and because of this it has been decided to proceed separately with federal organization in this province. Speaking on the party split, Mr. Hees said that federal organization in any province could only be carried out successfully by the fullest co- operation between the fedral mem- bers from that province and the pro- vincial association. VIEW MADE CLEAR He said that the B.C. association did not agree with this principle and added that the association’s point of view was made clear at its ey meeting in Vernon on April 24 when the executive passed a vote of no con- fidence in the national Progressive Conservative leader, George Drew. Mr. Hees said the vote made it clear that the B.C. association did not wish to work with the three Con- servative members of parliament from B.C. in matters of federal or- ganization, Therefore, he said, it had been de- ‘cided to proceed separately with fed- eral organization in this province in order to make full use of the three Tory members here, Mr. Hees said while it was regretted the B.C. Association had made it impossible for the two organizations to work together the federal associ- ation would be perfectly willing to co-operate if the other association showed any desire. NO BAD FEELINGS the stand taken by the three Federal - members from B.C. at Vernon, July 1954; Also, further,, be it resolved that every attempt be made to bring about an immediate reconciliation between the Provincial and Federal organiations so that all misunder- standings can be eliminated; Also, further, be it resolved that pending satisfactory reconciliation that immediate steps be taken to start a program of re-organization of all federal ridings.
