Mr. McBurnie went out to investigate and met up with Frank Matheson who was also out watching for the man. The two search- ers found no trace of the prowler but there was evidence under the bath- room window of the Russell home that he had been standing there. Although the news of the incident was not published, it spread around town and police found their efforts to find the prowler hampered by a rash of ‘reports’ of seeing the man from all sections of town.
