wolf fled, but not so the four inches
of fresh snow. Donning her son’s
heavy poots and trousers, Mrs. Me-
Intyre walked back six miles to Holi-
day Lodge, but being unable to obtain
help there returned to the car and
continued homeward. Two miles tar-
ther on she met Sheldon Storey com-
ing in his four by four to look for her.
They returned and pulled the ranch
wagon out of the hole.

Later in the day the hole held up
two other travellers. John Hogan and
Joseph O'Brien were coming home in
a truck they had just purchased when
the vehicle settled into the hole. They
remained the night, walking 20 miles
home to Canim Lake Tuesday.
