The trials, which will include land and water tests, will be recognized by the Canadian Kennel Club and dogs taking part will gain Points for their wins. Ten dogs are expected to be en- tered by members of the B.C. Gun Dog Club at Vancouver. Judges tor the trials will be Judge Henry Cas- tilou of Williams Lake and Dr. ‘T: Hackett of Vancouver. ‘The trials will be held on the land at the town end of the lake, courtesy of R. C. Cotton. Water tests will be made in the mouth of the creek flowing out of the lake. Sparkplug behind the trials is Benny Abbott, who back in 1934 Was one of the four men behind the establishment of the first recognized club for dog trial work on the coast. This was the strong B.C. Gun Dog Club. Purpose of bringing top flight dogs up here for the first trials is to @ people an idea of how the trials ave conducted and what training is in a championship retrie- necessar: ver, according to Mr. Abbott. It hoped that following the main trials a local one can be staged with four or five dogs shown by town sports- | men. It is planned to make the tr an annual competition.
