Stewart Me- Burnie, vice-president, spoke for Mr. Sharpe, who was suffering from laryngitis. In his comprehensive financial re- port, Mr. Brown stated that mem- bership in the uniop had increased from 13 to 59 up to the end of De- cember, 1953. At the same time, share deposits have increased from $123 to $1738.57. The union’s first loan was made in February, 1953 and during the remainder of the year 18 loans were made for a total of $2447.
