Gevernment Boosts Hospital Crant In an announcement last Friday, Minister of Health & Welf re Bric Martin states that, effective :mmedi ately, the grants-in-aid of hospital construction, paid by the y-ovincial government, will be ineren ed from total cost of construction. The inreased grants, no-y the larg- of their kind, apply to chronic and convalescent units, acute general hospitals as well as community clinic construction. Grants-in-aid of hospital renova- tion, repair and equipment will re- main at the 3314 percent level. B.C. Tree Farms Supply Xmas Trade As Christmas time draws near., B.C. tree farmers will be putting aside their axes after a busy season of providing Christmas trees to near- ly 2 million happy families. Last year over 1,700.000 Christ- mas trees were cut and shipped from B.C. The expectations are that the number will exceed 2,000,000 this year. According to the Forest Sery- ice, the majority of these trees were supplied from small tree farming op- erations carried on by thousands of farmers, truckers, store-keepers and even housewives.
