In addition to straight land clear- ing, the crews built one 1500 cubic yard storage dam and_ spillway; three small dams; 2% miles of irri- gation ditch: two short ‘roads, and five miles of old irrigation system right of way cleared and ditch re- constructed. This work was conduct- ed in the Soda Creek, Horsefiy, Bea- ver Valley, Lac La Hache and Buf- falo Creek areas. Total amount of the contracts amounted to $31,982 and the aver- age cost of land clearing per acre was $29. Mr. Walsh states that this com- paratively low cost for clearing is attributed to the standard of work done by the crews and the fact that good clearing weather conditions persisted during the summer.
