Canimahood News THE ANNUAL PRE-CHRISTMAS dance was held Saturday night at Canim Lake East school and fea- tured an auction bazaar. Many at- tractive and useful donations by the ladies were auctioned, $167.00 being received from a local turnout. Har- old Hartwig was auctioneer. THE JOLLY HOURS CLUB met Monday evening at Mrs. P. M. Law and made out the Christmas orders which Mrs. H. Hartwig, secretary, and Mrs. K. E. Higgins, motored out Tuesday to dispatch. The club's next meeting is at Mrs. Walter Ol- son’s November 21st, when the fin- ances will be discussed. HEADED BY Engineer Hugh Hammersley of Victoria, a provin- cial government survey party work- ing on Mahood Lake has been carry- ing on general survey work which is done annually. By sounding the greatest depth of Mahood Lake was found to be 700 feet. The deepest areas lie at the eastern part of the lake about 600 feet off the Rock Bluffs about the centre of the lake.
