Products Bureau, Vancouver Board of Trade, to The Tribune this week. Referring to the amazing Fereman said: People are amazed when you tell them that the production of British Columbia’s secondary industries in 1952 amounted to $1,070,000.00, of course included in this are certain manufacturing establishments pro- cessing wood products such as sash and door, plywood, furniture. ete. Payrolls in the secondary industries totalled $258,000.00 and are increas- ing substantially each year. The B.C. Products Bureau of the Vancouver Board of Tade. has play- ed a prominent part during the past forty years. in bringing new indus- tries into the province and initiat- ing advertising compaigns to pro- mote and increase the sale ot pro- ducts of the factories now establish- ed. It is povince-wide in its scope. You may ask how do you do it? Well briefly here are some mediums that are most effective and have re- sulted in millions of dollars of in- creased business, benefitting every- one in British Columbia. (A total of over $700,000.00 has been spent advertising B.C. predutes.) These campaigns have been fin- anced largely by the Board members engaged in manufacturing B.C. Pro- ducts. Because it has been under taken co-operatively, the cost of the advertising and promotional activi- ties has been very moderate. To The Individual Consumer To the principal market centres of the province we take the B.C. Products Week, with intensive win- dow display contests, mass meetings, school participation, quiz programs. with cash prizes, special newspaper and radio advertising. Periodic ad- vertising is carried in some 30 of the leading weekly newspapers.
