Under the presidency of Lord Mar- tin Cecil, the association’s directors meet monthly to discuss any prob- lem that has a bearing on the in- dustry. Last year the total number of stock sold through the Association was 5,539 head of cattle, 474 sheep, 209 horses and 72 pigs for a total gross of $894,265. Besides this number of livestock, the association shipped to the Vancouver yards on behalf of its members 160 cattle and 5 pigs for a total of $24,464. Taken last week, the picture shows a Pacific Great Easern bulldozer at work grading for the new passing track that will parallel the existing main line north. This work started last week, and since then a bulldozer has started clearing the trees away from one section of ground that has been applied for by the Allfir Lumber Co., of Everett, Washington. This company has applied for 10 acres and will increase clearing and bulding crews in the next two weeks. The firm is bringing a planer mill on to the property, and hopes to get underway in about two months, The local planer mill of Lignum Ltd., has also applied for a 15-acre tract on the trackage allowance, and plans are being made to move their present mill out to this location.
