Pacifie Chemical’ Ltd., an Alberta firm incorporated a little over a year ago is interested ‘ in diatomite deposits near Quesnel. | Currently Pacific Chemicals is! operating a drilling mud manufac- turing plant in Calgary which has a capacity of 40 tons daily. It is the only Canadian company at present | manufacturing this product sO es- sential in the oil fields of Alberts and the British Columbia Peace River, The report to The Observer states that investigation has revealed a market of about 7,500 tons of diato-! mite annually and that there is a much larger potential market | Pacific Chemicals hold leases on! a 1,500 acre diatomite bed near Quesnel and it is on this property that the development is planned.
