My chief concern is now that by. this gction I had implied that Mr, Chetwynd had, not :kept his word) and I would like it clearly under: stood that I had no reason to believé that he did not, but as the question was being raised during the actual course of the mceting it seemed wisest to insure that the agreement was being kept. 2 1 sincerely regret if I have been responsible for the implication that Mr. Chetwynd had not kept his word, as I have frankly stated that I did not know if it was running or not. To my knowledge and until T am personally convinced otherwise, Mr. Chetwynd is a man of honour, I make this statement quite freely with the belief that the quality of a man’s integrity should not be judged by what I, as the local chairman of an opposing political party, may consider the mistaken- ness of his convictions. No one who has spent hours ex- tricating his car from it, appreciates Cariboo mud, and I do not wish my- self to be accused of having, either wittingly or unwittingly, thrown it at a political candidate.
