Private RangeOffered
To Start Rifle Work

An offer of the use of his private

range to members of the Wil.
Lake Rod & Gun Club who are genu-
inely interested in rifle range work

ams

has been made by local gunsmith
Walter Bailey.

Mr.. Bailey, who was appointed
chairman of a committee to look into
the feasibility of starting a iifle
range group, has stated in his rec-
ommendations that, since his com-
mittee has been unable to find a
suitable spot, he is makiug this
tentative offer of his private range.
‘The offer has been made with the
jrope_that once the gun club. mem-
bers have their interest sufficiently
aroused by practical range work,
| they will show a little more action in
'puilding up a club range. 5

First meeting on the Bailey range
is called for 2 p.m. Sunday and Wal-
jter suggests that the members bring
| their rifles, ammunition and shoot-
;ing equipment along with them to
| shoot a few groups. Anything goes —
the shooters can call the matches.
The range is four miles out of town
on the new Mountain House cut-off.

Mr. Bailey has suggested that if
the idea is popular, the men could use
his range on a temporary basis every
second Sunday.

Not one to call his verbal punches,
the committee chairman says the
opening shoot will give those “rock-
ing chair hunters who have been
doing a bit of talking about organiz-
ed shooting, a chance to come for-
ward and show us (the committee)
what they want.”
