The Bears found their first br when Vickie Carolan drew two min- utes for tripping. Just before the period end the Stamps wound up an offensive play from their own blueline that back- fired when Hutchinson lost control of the puck and Trask came roar- ing in, picked up the rubber and went on with only McNiven to beat. Nine minutes of the final frame went by before the Stamps evened up the score again. Buchholtz sét up the play when he followed the puck into the opopsition corner and bat- tled for possession with two of the Bears before getting it clear and passing out to Norquay who cleared to Camponi for the counter. There the game remained deadlocked unti! Forsey’s big effort. If any single man was mainly re- sponsible for the Vanderhoof win it was Dal Irvine, spare goalie for ‘he Stamps. Dal took over when the Bears’ regular custodian had to for- get playing Sunday because of an injured knee, and he was something more than sensational. Dal had 28 shots directed his way compared to 34 on McNiven. Missing from the Stamp line-up was former coach Ed. McGibbon, who was relieved of his duties last week as Arena manager. Referring to one of Mr. Spragge’s salary comparisons made with the engineering staff and similar’ types of employees of the City of Vaneou- ver and the B.C. In contrast to this, the speaker assert- ed a person going into the teaching profession just had to behave him- self once established, and he had a job for life. One of the points raised by Mr. Spragge in rebuttal was that only half of the teachers on District 27 Staff in 1948 were still teaching here, the inference being that any statements attributed to \the group at that time should not be binding on those negotiating now.
