PIONEER SETTLER DIES AT VANCOUVER Mrs. Charles Bambrick, one of the original settlers in the Big Creek district. whose son Walter still re- sides here, passed away in Vancou- ver January Ist at the age of 72. Mrs. Bambrick was a pioneer resi- dent, coming to Big Creek with her husband about 1895. After her hus- band’s death in 1932 she moved to Williams Lake and later to Vancou- ver where she resided until the time of her death. Mrs. Bambrick leaves a large fam- ily to Mourn her passing. Six daugh- ters, Mrs. C. Paxton, Prince George; Mrs. H. Wales, Revelstoke; Mrs. G. Jakel, Clinton; Mrs. G. Ste- vens, Bralorne; Mrs. E. Passenger, Squamish, and Mrs. D. Curtis, Van- couver: four sons, Walter, Big Creek; Eddy and Arthur, Williams Lake and Frank, Vancouver; twenty- three grandchildren and. three great grandchildren. IT WAS with deep regret also that we learned of the bereavement in Murray Taylor's family. Death came to his father, Robert Taylor, on New Year's Eve, at his aome in Bramp- ton, Ont. DUE TO recurring nosebleeds, ‘Norah Wilson was obliged to spend Christmas Day away from her home and family. After a few days in Wil- liams Lake Hospital her husband took her on to Kamloops to consult a nose specialist. A WELL has been dug at the school. Wm. Maxted completed the job Saturday. LARRY HENRY suffered a loss of blood Friday when he stumbled down the stairs, cutting his head on the sharp edge of a board. His par- ents took him to the Outpost Hos- pital at Alexis Creek, and were ad- vised by the nurse there to go on to Williams Lake for a doctor’s examin- ation. Nothing was seriously wrong, however, and Larry is feeling as lively as ever. ROSALIE CHURCH left for school at Three Hills, Alberta, again Decem- ber 26, after spending Christmas at home with her family and friends. Johnny was also home for the Yule- tide, leaving again for Penticton on January 2. A PARTY to usher in the New Year was put on at Breckness Ranch by Phyllis and Bruce Watt. WALT BLISS returned home on Wednesday after riding with Duane Witte through the week. MISS GWEN FLETCHER arrived back to take over her duties here on January 4.
