With the offer was a proposal to develop natural resources along the right-of-way and to sponsor indus- tries. Col. Wise said the syndicate, whieh includes Canadian directors, is prepared to make a $1,000,000 “good faith” deposit on the PGE. He proposed before any sale took place it would be placed before yot- ers of B.C. in a plebiscite. Sponsor of the deal, he said, is Canadian Alaska Railway Company, which has made previous attempts to interest the B.C. Government in the Alaska railway. Cabinet ministers attending a So- cial Credit League convention said the proposal had never come before the cabinet. Col. Wise did not mention the proposal from the convention floor, but released details to the press. He was a delegate to the convention. Earlier, delegates had voted in favor of the government’s continu- ing to operate the PGE.
