Travellers Find Hert Highway Not So Bed With more and more tourists to the Hart Highway as a means of offering new country to explore, a lot of us will undoubtedly be faced with the question from these travel- lers of “What shape is the Hart Highway in?”. Conflicting stories shout the new road make the ques- tion a bit of a Sticker, but a story in the -Prince George Citizen recent- 2 ly, gave the opinion of several re-! 2 sponsible persons who made the trip. Last Saturday he left Prince George around 8 a.m. and arrived in Dawson Creek in the afternoon after stopping to extricate two American cars from mud-holes. One of these, he said, had deliber- ately driven into a set of wheel ruts close to two feet deep, and the other was bogged down on a soft shoulder while trying to pass the first one. ‘There is no reason why a person should get stuck if he knows how to drive and uses a little common sense’, Mr. Nicol told The Citizen on ais return. He said there were-long stretcses of the road where no gravel ‘had yet been laid, and he cautioned drivers to drive over these carefully when they are wet. ‘Ig you drive on these stretches as you would drive on slippery, ice you ould have no trouble’, Mr. Nicol stated.
