Limited Cow Moose Season Approved At Bridge Lake The South Cariboo Registered Guides Association met in the Roe Lake-Bridge Lake school house on May 3 and discussed the advisavility of reducing the moose population in southern Cariboo by declaring an open season for cows. The speakers were Pat Martin and James Hatter, provincial game biol- ogists. Inspector Robertson,. game commissioner from Kamloops and game warden W. Fenton from Clin- ton were also present. After listening to the informative talks by Messrs Martin, Hatter and Robertson a resolution was unani- mously carried recommending that the Game Commission should declare am open season on cow moose for one week immediately following the end of the season for bulls. Moose, the speakers said, are now so num- erous that the animals are facing a serious shortage of winter feed. Directors of the Registered Guides who were present at the meeting in- cluded Eyerett Greenlee from Can- im Lake, Bert Gamie from Green Lake, Ed Dougherty from Loon Lake and John Sheepbouwer from the North Bonaparte. Many local big game guides were in attendance. THE Bridge Lake Farmers Insti- tute met for their regular monthly meeting May 3 at 3 p.m. Amos Kal- loch presided.
