Stitt Was elected president of the Ladies’ Auxiliary to the War Memorial Hosita] at the group’s annual meeting January 3. Other officers elected were Mrs. F. | B. Bass, 1st Vice-president; Mrs, L. | terested in holding a party of afew E. Avery, 2nd vice-president; Mrs. L. Hellyer, secretary, and Mrs. Wm. Christie, treasurer. Mrs. J, Smedley was re-elected hospital board repre- sentatlve, Reports for the past year showed the main sources of revenue for the Auxiliary had been the bridge and crib tourhaments that had realized $107; the two tag days, one at Stam- pede time and the other during the fall Feeder Sale, that realized $295, and a donation from the W.A. to the Canadian Legion. This latter aona- tion was for the children’s watd and Was used to purchase blankets and dressing gowns. Other disbursements were chiefly for hospital linen and a vacuum cleaner. The sewing committee received praise for their work in makiny and mending hospital linen supplies. It was decided to hold the annual bridge and crib tournament at any time during the months of January or February. Anyone in © Williams Lake or the surrounding district in- tables is asked to contact M ley or Mrs. Avery, for rules in enter= ing the tournament. An appeal was made for new mem- bers for the auxiliary. Anyone willing to work for the hospital is welcome to join. Skating Instructor Again Gives Lessons Miss Pat Murphy, former~ Con- naught Skating Club member, who several fancy skating routines for the big ice carnival at the arena, is undertaking the job again this sea- son. = Mis Murphy is fresh trom a three and a half month stay at the coast during which time she brushed up on the art with the Connaught Club's #oP Canadian skaters. Lessons are being given to the youngsters at the Arena every Tues- day and Friday evening from eight to nine-thirty and Miss Murphy ex- pects last year’s class of 30 wall be increased considerably. Work on the routines is being done in preparation for ano T ice [caeival to be staged in the last week in February.
