I am in- clined to believe the latter, There is much discussion these days about how differently children are being brought up than in the good old days. The modern concept seenis to be to allow them to “express them- selves” which often results in the children being “little monsters” whom no-one can tolerate. A relative of ours felt that she was repressed when a child which gave her an inferiority complex. In consequence she has let her own children run wild. Their friends hate to see them come to visit on account of the horrible behavior of their children, but still 1 believe that those same children will, in all likelihood, turn out to be good citi- zens by inheriting and living with their parents’ better qualities. But it is pretty hard on both parents and friends while they are growing up — and I would certainly hate ‘to think that I wasn’t weleome on account of my children! I have stood on the trail that bi-sected an empty lot "near our corner grocery store, waiting patiently for an hour until I thought all the other customers were out.
