Acquires Steel Barge The PGE has purchased a steel barge in Seattle to handle expanding freight traitic from Squamish to Van- couver. The announcement was made in Victoria by John Hart, president. At Vancouver offices of the railway general manager J. A. Kennedy said that the barge has been bought from Puget Sound Towing Co. and is due here next week. + With a length of 214 feet and a breadth of 44, it can handle 12 freight cars on a tripple track. The railroad has been having dif- ficulty lately‘in finding railway barges to rent for the Squamish run.
