BASEBALL PLANS
STILL DOUBTFUL

There is evidently still little to re-
port on the fate of baseball in town,
Although the boys were out to the first
practise Sunday afternoon, it is still
doubtful whether enough players can
be got together to make the game
feasible.

At the same time those who prefer
to play softball are determined to gO
ahead with their usual early season
plans and a meeting has been called
| for next Wednesday evening.

Sounds Like They
Are There To Stay

From the boom town of Burns Lake
will come many stories but we liked
the one about the first company rep-
resentative to arrive,

According to the story, the repre-
sentative went into a hotel and asked
the clerk for severa] rooms; then ask-
ed fhe could rent the sample room
ond banquet room.

The clerk, surprised at the request,

asked “how long would you want|
them?”
The answer must have further

startled him.
“Four years,” was the quick reply.
