We are looking now to all committees to fulfill their cash quotas with- out further delay. Every committee must fulfill the cash quota if we are to be able to carry on. We would like all odds and “ends in connection with the dance tickets cleared up so that we can complete this immediately and let everyone know how we made out. ‘Among.the city clubs, Grandview is well over the top in both cash and subs and with ‘their P.A. Day social coming up, they ex- pect to take the city trophy this year. Their top man is their veteran press worker and “press chairman .“‘Paddy’’ Roberts, whose personal score is now 45, and the end is not yet. In addition to this, Paddy helps regularly in the P.A. office each week with the mailing, and he is certainly tops with “P.A. in every department. Paddy says it’s fine to have star performers, but it really takes a team to win, and Grandview cer- tainly has that. Well done! The language clubs, East End and Georgia, have certain- ly set the pace in subs for P.A. Both have doubled their sub quotas and still getting them. South Hill has certainly perked up in this drive and are well over on both counts, with your friend and mine Harry Asson going strong and faithfully as al- “ways for the labor press. West End have done a fine job on subs and confidently ex- pect to make that cash quota by next issue. PACIFIC ADVOCATE — PAGE 6 iE HEAT Cumberland, Ladysmith, Salmon Arm, and Sointula are all over on both counts _and we will give a fuller report on their drive when we hear from them. Day affairs will be held, one at Grandview clubroom, 875 East Hast- ings on Saturday, December 22, at 8 p.m. Whist and refreshments will be on the agenda; and Kitsilano have arranged their social at the home of Joe Johannson, Kits press chairman, 2690 West Ist Avenue, on Sunday, December 23. Everybody is wel- come at both of these affairs, and a good time will be had by all. This round-up must be brief of neces- sity as we are hurrying to catch our dead- line and get to work at the P.A. dance, so until next week when we hope to do better, keep boosting P.A. and remember every club must raise that cash objective. So come on, comrades, in the celebrations of the holidays don’t forget P.A.; when your friends are gathered around, tell them of our paper and the role that it’ must play in the labor movement. Tell them how the paper fights for them and must depend on them to sustain it, and ask for a donation to help put your club over the top in cash! —MARGARET BLACK. 1 (- i seiiochaaesspusinammnuicin teeta a « - ORDER NOW Atomic Diplomacy—Threat to World Pe | By TIM BUCK ee fa ...
