Labor calling for stern gov- ernment action, to the extent of taking over the Ford plant, if the company continued to refuse to consider any union demands. Repeated efforts to raise the question of the Ford strike in the Federal house, however, failed, and while timorous state- ments from the Labor Depart- ment prophesied early settle- ment indications were that both the Ontario provincial govern- ment and the federal adminis- tration were pasing the buck. Labor continued to bombard Otawa with demands to step in and force the company to grant union security by telegram, let- ter and resolution.
