Houseworkers To the Editor: Now that the postwar is upon us, it is time to consider the position of Vancouver’s hun- dreds of women who for the duration of the war have worked to assist in keeping the flow of war materials teadily flowing to the boys overseas. Women _ have played a great part in the war effort, and have grown accustomed to working under ,the protection of trode unions with the assurance of equal pay for equal work and decent wage and working standards. .- With the threat of layoffs facing women, one cannot help but consider what openings will be available to women war- workers. Obviously numbers of women,have learned new trades, trades at which they could work in peacetime as well as wartime.
