The program for the week is as follows: June 15, with the co- cperation of Mr. Helps, the Town Meeting will present a special program on Canadian-Soviet re- lations. Elmore Philpott, promi- nent local journalist, and Dr. Basil Mathews, noted world trav- eller and lecturer, have promised to take part. The topic to be dis- cussed will be “What basis exists for good relations between Can- ada and the USSR.” June 17, the Reverend A. E. Cooke has arranged for Elmore Philpott to speak on the sub- ject, “The Soviet Union at San Francisco.” June 18, the ‘“‘Town Meeting” forum, which takes place on June 15, will be broadcast over station CJOR. June 19, 16 mm films on Soviet life will be shown, time and place to be announced. “Experiments on the Revival of Organisms,” “Gateway to Life,” and other films will be shown. June 20, at 8 p.-m., at 339 West Pender Street, Panel Discussions will be conducted which will be informative as to various phases of Soviet life. Topics to- be dis- cussed will be (a) Drama and Fine Arts. Dorothy Somerset, UBC, will conduct discussion on Drama. Mr. G. F. Crompton will direct discussion on Music. R. Miller will chair the discussions. Other topics to be discussed will be Education, Soviet Economy, and Labor and Trade Unions. June 22, a Public Rally, with & IW.
