Miss Truax, in her letter to the writer of the editorial asked | if the program of the Labor- Progressive Party had been studied, and elucidated five points which indicated the soundness of the program. She stated further that it was on the basis of the soundness of the LPP program that she had recently become a member of the party. “T believe that my policies in teachers’? organizational work have been recognized as sound,” Miss Truax stated, “because I have an undying faith in democ- racy, in the common sense of the people, I gladly leave the elec- torate to choose their represen- tatives in the coming Hederal elections. ; Numbers of prominent educa- tionalists have expressed their admiration for Miss Truax in her staunch fight against those who would suppress academic freedom. A tall man, dressed in the uni- form of a Soviet merchant sea- man, and bearing a striking re- semblance to Marshal - Timo- shenko, entered the auditorium. The unexpected visitor was Capt. Zarriey, master of a Soviet mer- chant ship now in harbor. Capt. Zarriey fought through the Crimean campaign, was a defender of Odessa,- Novorisisk and Sevastopol He has been torpedoed several times while ferrying the supplies of war to the Soviet Union. Capt.
