It will request the council to inter- vene with the Federal Depart- ment of Labor to establish a La- bor Board in the Yukon.and will also demand degislation favyor- able to a cooperative movement in the Yukon. : At present the Yukon ordi- nance is such that in the mining industry the minimum working week is 56 hours. There is no adequate compensation legisla- tion and no department of labor in the Yukon, neither is there any legislation pertaining to co- operatives. The council plans to send dele- gates to the Yukon Council meet- jug and has issued a call to all affiliated unions to prepare briefs and elect a delegate to present their brief to the Coun- ceil. This will mark the first Yukon-wide delegation to ap- pear before the Yukon council. In a statement isued today by G. P.
