Union Condmns Attitude of Gev- ernment VANCOUVER, Mar. 24. — Three rejected campboys were arrested yesterday and their collection cans confiscated by police. The boys, who were collecting for their own relief at the B.C. Electric car barns were ordered to move on. Refusing to do so, they were arrested on a eharge of “obstructing” police of- ficers. Qn Saturday morning the camp boys paraded to the Police Station, where they were told that nothing could be done for them, but they hhad the sympathy of the police. Last night when a representative of the men was given a very sympa- thetic hearing by local 452 of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners, and although members are mostly unemployed, a collection was taken up among the members which yielded $4.59. The union also endorsed resolutions condemning the disclaimer attitude of those in official government positions. The Canadian Labor Defence League has undertaken the defence of those arrested.
