Shaughnessy Street from Wilson through to the underpass is a very congestad
and heavy traffic use area. The traffic situation is compounded with che
large number of bus movements in the area as well as bus waiting/storage zones
where busses often wait for 15 or 20 minutes until their appropriate time to
commence their routes again. It appears, from our information, that a great.
number of the bus users only use it as a transfer point, and are not
necessarily shopping or contributing to the downtown area economy. It is
probably appropriate at this time to discuss with the B.C. Transit
Representatives appropriate measures to possibly change the downtown location.
