Public Works Committee, July 19th, 1983

RECOMMENDATION;

. That. the City fill the portion of ditch between 2129
Vand 2155 Rindal| Avenue whenever gravel material is availiable.

BACKGROUND AND COMMENTS:

adjacent homes has baen the subject of numerous complaints over
the years, . The ditch is deep and affects the fences on a
number of properties, We have been reftuctant to Fill the diteh
in the past even though the ditch’ igs usually dry because of
Several drainage connections which enter the ditch. We have
recently done dye +ests and determined that the homes along
this ditch da not have direct connections to the ditch and that
the drains entering: the ditch have been abandoned and replaced
with: connections To.the storm sewer on Rindall Avenue, We
“would therefore recommend filling this portion of ditch
whenever suitable material is available,

The portion of ditch east of 2129 Rindall cannot be.
filled without installing a storm Sewer because there js a
catch. basin which drains into the ditch at that point. The
Committee does not recommend installing a storm sewer at this
time.
