THE CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF PORT COQUITLAM ~3-~ ITEM IIT continued Re: Ditch at 3696 Hamilton which would be set by closing this ditch and also the cost. In any case, it would seem that the drain at the end of the ditch should be raised in order to provide an effective solution. The Committee recommends that about twenty feet of the ditch at the Lincnin Avenue end be enclosed by the installation of a pipe in order to provide the property owner at 3696 Hamilton with a means of supporting his fence and that the treatment of the remainder of the ditch be con~ sidered during 1980 Budget discussions. In the meantime, we would attempt to get the drain at 3653 St. Thomas rerouted or raised. ITEM IV Re: Proposed Closure by Highways of Access at Wild Duck Inn As part of the revisions being carried out by. the Ministry of Highways to the traffic flows at the intersection of the Mary Hill By- Pass with the Lougheed Highway, the Ministry would like to rearrange certain accesses to the Lougheed Highway. Their intention is to close off the access to the parking lot of the Wild Duck Inn and to provide restricted movement only at Fremont. Sketch Number 2 shows the proposed arrangement. The Regional Maintenance Operations Manager has requested us to determine Council's reaction to this planned change. The Committee feels that the changes would produce a better traffic flow in the area keeping in mind that the new highway will be signalized and that other entrances close to the signals would become a safety hazard. The change would also perhaps prevent some shortcutting of traffic past the Wild Duck Inn. The Committee recommends that Council approve of this rearrangement. ITEM V Re: Parking Problems at Two Locations A request has been received to examine the parking at Kingsway and Bedford. The Committee looked at the parking on Kingsway in front of the new industrial building and were not able to determine a problem here. The Committee therefore suggested that the location be observed and reported on again at a future meeting.
