In attendance were: Councillor M. Gates, Chair T.M. Chong, P. Eng., City Administrator I.R. Zahynacz, P. Eng., City Engineer J.E. Yip, P. Eng. Deputy City Engineer SUBJECT: 2133 ANITA DRIVE - SIORAGE, REMOVAL AND DISPOSAL QF HAZARDQIJS MATEIUALS At City CouncBs regular meeting held October 11, 1994 the matter of 2133 Anita Drive was referred to the Environmental Protection Consnlttee. Mr. J. Yip, Deputy Engineer outlined what arrangement was made through discussion with Joe Leung, Ministry of Environment regarrgng cordoning off the site and the taking of samples to determine if any contamination had occurred. Mr. T. Chong reviewed the information and the history of the situation noting the initial action taken in July 1994 was under the Property Maintenance Bylaw. The events of the weekend were reviewed. The barrels and containers were removed by Philip Environmental where generic testing will be done to determine disposal requirements, Mr. T. Chong recommended that a joint meeting with officials of the Ministry of Environment, Shnon Fraser Health Unit, RCMP and City Departments be arranged to review this issue. Further, that a letter (signed by Councillor M. Gates) be delivered to the area residents updating them on this issue. Arrangements will be made to have these items done. There being no further business the meeting adjourned at 6:00 pm.
